Using your own bodyweight to build muscle and cardiovascular strength is an easy and effective workout. Because you don’t need any equipment, bodyweight exercise can be done anywhere, anytime. They are easily modified to challenge all fitness levels. Add extra reps or slow the tempo to progress the exercise.
Bodyweight exercises also ensure that joints are moving freely which can reduce exercise-related injuries. As compound exercises (numerous muscles and joints engaged) you will see gains in both muscle and flexibility.
To build your muscle AND cardiovascular strength, try doing bodyweight exercises like burpees and mountain climbers and you’ll get your heart pumping and build muscle strength quickly.
