Team Kingsway Boxing At The Ontario Provincial Championships: A Celebration of Performance, Progress, and a Path to Nationals.
Posted on
Every opportunity to represent Team Ontario begins with the work nobody sees: the early mornings, demanding rounds, and commitment to keep improving.
For Kingsway Boxing’s Andrea Young and Quentin Snowden, earning their place at Nationals has been a goal all year. At the Ontario Provincials, both stepped into the ring ready to turn that goal into reality.
Andrea delivered two commanding performances, opening with a unanimous decision victory before bringing her final to an end in the second round to claim the #1 spot in Ontario. Her achievements also earned her recognition as Boxing Ontario’s Female Athlete of the Year—a meaningful honour as she prepares to take the next step on the national stage.
For Quentin, the road demanded resilience. After winning a closely contested opening bout, he faced a skilled southpaw in a hard-fought final that ended in a split decision for his opponent. Although he fell short of the provincial title, Quentin earned Ontario’s #2 spot and secured his return to Nationals, where he hopes to turn that experience into another step toward becoming #1 in Canada.
We’re proud of what Andrea and Quentin have accomplished and grateful to the coaches, training partners, and KBC community who continue to support their development.
They’ve earned the right to wear Team Ontario across their backs. Now, the preparation continues as they set their sights on the national podium.

QUENTIN SNOWDEN: THE ROAD TO NATIONALS
Quentin is hungry for redemption, determined to return to Nationals and chase his ultimate goal of becoming #1 in Canada! But first, he had to earn his place on Team Ontario
In his opening bout, Quentin faced a tough, skilled opponent in a series of closely contested rounds. He rose to the challenge and secured the victory, keeping his dream of Nationals alive!
Thank you to our Official Strength & Conditioning Team
Special shoutout to Jose Lima for dedicating weekly sessions with our Competitive team, ensuring they’re strong both physically and mentally for the ring! A huge thank you to Paul McIntyre for your incredible support of Team KBC. Check Out Crossfit Colosseum
Then came the finals. Facing a crafty southpaw, Quentin once again found himself in a hard-fought battle that went down to a split decision. This time, the judges awarded the victory to his opponent. Although the result wasn’t what he had hoped for, Quentin proved he belongs among Ontario’s best.
The mission isn’t over. It’s only getting started. 🏆
Quentin earns the #2 spot in Ontario and punches his ticket to Nationals!
Congratulations, Quentin, on earning your place on TEAM ONTARIO! Your determination, resilience, and willingness to step into the ring against the best are what champions are made of.
The hard work starts NOW. Nationals 2027 is the mission. #1 in Canada is the goal. And Quentin is coming for it!
Andrea Young: Journey of a Champion!
Nationals was the goal all year long for Andrea. But before she could take the next step toward the national stage, she had a mission to complete in Ontario.
In her opening bout, Drea faced a familiar opponent. From the opening bell to the final bell, she took control of the ring, dictated the pace, and commanded the action. Round after round, she made her presence felt, earning a unanimous decision victory and punching her ticket to Nationals!
But she wasn’t finished yet.
In the finals, Drea stepped into the ring with a plan and executed it to perfection. She followed the game plan to a T and brought the contest to an end in the second round, claiming the #1 spot in Ontario! 🥇
All year we’ve worked hard to get to this point and get the result. We defended the Provincial Championship title to secure a spot at Nationals where we could go after the ultimate goal; a spot on Team Canada. I am very happy with how the fights went. They showed that the right game plan, followed, makes the desired outcome possible. We did it, now for the real challenge!
Two fights. Two statements. One incredible journey.
And as if that wasn’t enough, Boxing Ontario recognized her outstanding achievements by awarding her FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR!
Andrea’s journey is a testament to what happens when preparation meets determination, when discipline meets courage, and when an athlete refuses to let anything stand between her and her goals.
Congratulations, Drea, on an incredible run! You didn’t just earn your place at Nationals, you made a statement. Ontario knows your name, and now it’s time to take that same fire to the national stage.
Wow! I’m shocked and honoured to not only be nominated but to also receive this award! This is recognition of the dedication, hard work, and performances my team and I put in. It makes every sacrifice worth it and motivates me to continue pushing forward! To everyone in my corner from coaches, teammates, trainers, chiro, physio, sparring partners, etc; thank you. I would not be the athlete I am without you. I hope to continue to be someone deserving of this award and be an inspiration to all young boxers.

NEXT STOP: NATIONALS. 🇨🇦 THE JOURNEY OF A CHAMPION CONTINUES!
Words From The Coaches Corner
Fighters aren’t built on easy night, they’re built on how they respond to the hard ones.
Victory is worth celebrating, but development is what builds champions. Every round is a lesson. Every challenge is an opportunity. Every setback is a chance to come back stronger.
To every boxer who stepped through those ropes, every coach who put in the work, and every supporter who brought the crowd to life, thank you for being part of the journey.
The standard keeps rising. The work continues.
This is KBC. And we’re just getting started.

Behind every champion stands a team — athletes pushing limits, and coaches sacrificing time, resources, and sleep to keep them in the fight. But unlike professional sports, amateur boxing receives almost no financial support. Every tournament, every corner, and every victory comes at a personal cost.
That’s why we’ve launched the KBC Team Fund — to help our athletes and volunteer coaches continue representing Kingsway Boxing on the provincial, national, and international stage.
