Honouring Ty Magbitang, Friend, Teammate and Community Leader

The Kingsway Boxing Club and Fight To End Cancer family are heartbroken by the loss of our friend, teammate, ambassador, and leader, Ty Magbitang.
Ty lived a life far beyond his years, yet one that was far too short for the incredible mission he was on. He wasn’t simply part of our organizations—he helped shape them.
To the Fight To End Cancer family, Ty proudly served as our Official Ambassador, using his voice and his story to inspire others and remind us why we continue the fight against cancer.
To the Kingsway Boxing Club family, he was one of our own—a dedicated boxer who represented everything we hope to instill in our athletes: humility, perseverance, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to lifting others up.

In 2025, Ty proudly became the first Fight To End Cancer Ambassador Fighter to step into the ring at the Gloves Up event, honouring the legacy of Canada’s fallen police officers. It was a moment that reflected exactly who he was—a young man who chose to stand for something greater than himself.
Whether he was checking in on someone, encouraging a teammate, volunteering his time, or leading by example, Ty had a remarkable ability to make every person feel seen, valued, and capable of more. Even while facing challenges of his own, he continued breaking down barriers, building community, and inspiring everyone fortunate enough to know him.
His impact reaches far beyond the ring. He was a community leader, a mentor, a friend, and a source of hope for so many. He reminded us that the greatest victories aren’t measured by titles or medals, but by the lives we touch and the difference we make for others.
As the Kingsway Boxing Club and Fight To End Cancer family, we promise to carry Ty’s legacy forward. Through our athletes, our Rookie Division, our ambassadors, and every person who joins our community, we will continue the work that meant so much to him. We will ensure that those who never had the privilege of meeting Ty will still come to know his kindness, his courage, and the extraordinary example he set for all of us.
Ty’s legacy is now part of ours. It will live on in every young athlete who discovers confidence through boxing, every ambassador who fights for a cause greater than themselves, and every life changed through the communities he loved so deeply.
You will forever be a champion in our family, and your fight will continue through all of us. 🥊❤️
