It’s been an incredibly busy and meaningful few weeks at Kingsway Boxing, and we’re excited to share a full update with all of you.

This is one of the first major updates since our rebuild efforts over the past few months, and we want to begin with the most important message:

Your support in all its forms—whether you donated, volunteered, sent a message of encouragement, attended a fundraiser, helped us rebuild after the fire, showed up for classes, or simply stayed connected—has carried us through one of the most challenging years in our 20-year history. Every gesture, big or small, helped keep us moving forward when it mattered most.

As we close out this year of rebuilding, growth, and incredible community strength, we want to bring everyone together—our athletes, families, friends, and supporters to celebrate how far we’ve come.

Rebuilding, Recovery & The Power of Our Community

This year was not only defined by rebuilding, but also by the difficult decisions and emotional moments that came with it. While the fire in August was one of the most disruptive events we’ve faced, it was only one part of a much larger journey of challenges, introspection, and resilience.

One of the hardest decisions we’ve had to make was the closure of our Bloor Street Location. This space was more than just a gym — it was a home. A home we built together with the support of our community, just before the pandemic forced us to close its doors for 16 months. After years of pouring heart, effort, and resources into that location, accepting that we could no longer sustain it was incredibly difficult.

Bloor Street also represented something deeper. It was a place where so many partner programs, community initiatives, and local relationships flourished. It held memories, friendships, beginnings, and breakthroughs. It was a place that welcomed everyone — from first-time boxers to long-time supporters — right in the heart of the Kingsway. We remain deeply grateful for the community that made that space feel alive.

Although we’ve had to let go of that chapter, we move forward with strength and purpose under one roof at our High Performance Training Centre, knowing that the spirit of the Bloor Street community lives on in everything we do.

We will also continue to maintain our office within the Bloor Street building, ensuring we remain connected to the Kingsway community and continue to manage our operations and our work with the Fight To End Cancer from a place that holds so much history for us.

These transitions have been emotional and difficult, but they have also reinforced something powerful:
Our community never stopped showing up for us.
Through rebuild efforts, donations, encouragement, and sheer belief, you helped us navigate every obstacle and find our footing again.

Thanks to your generosity, the KBC Fundraising Raffle raised $10,000 to support our rebuild, and the memorial funds raised for William DeNino contributed another $12,000 to ensure our programs and athletes could continue during the toughest months.

In one year, with your support, we have:

• Rebuilt following a devastating fire
• Restored our space and momentum piece by piece
• Transitioned to operating under one strong roof
• Continued to develop athletes across every level
• And kept alive the community spirit that defines Kingsway Boxing

Through every trial and every triumph, your support allowed us to keep moving forward — not just rebuilding a space, but rebuilding strength, confidence, and possibility.
